Fantastic new postal museum in the center of Rabat featuring interactive exhibits on the history of philately and also the intriguing history of post and telecommunications in Morocco. The museum offers audioguides and there are a number of interactive exhibits such as touchscreens that allow you to design your own postage stamp. In addition to Moroccan stamps from the earliest days to the present time you can also see stamps issued by England, France, Germany and Spain during their various periods of administration. Plus there are nice exhibits on how mail was delivered in bygone times. Admission is free until 31 December 2019. Highly recommended!
Located in the city center of the capital of Morocco, Rabat. On boulevard Mohamed 5, not far from the Rabat city station, the parliament, the renaissance cinema and the old medina.
This museum is a living memory of the post office, it traces its history over time (from the protectorate, independence and the post today)
There is an important collection of postage stamps, historical letters, postman's clothes, objects relating to the postal services and others.
To visit without hesitation
Access is free 🙂
New Museum of Barid Al Maghrib inaugurated in Rabat late November 2019.
During the visit, the museum traces the history of the post in Morocco and timbre in Morocco since its inception to the present.
Ideal place for philatelists and for youth or great lovers.
