The food courts in the airport are nice an have tasty snacks an the staff there are very kind, but the duty free products are extremely expensive- I purchased an pack of M&Ms which cost £8.00 in duty free but in Kent we only get it for £1.00 or so. Another problem is the organisation of the staff; when coming nearer to boarding the plane at the gate we were stopped and checked by security but only a few people were getting picked out which is not fair not to mention the people picked out were all coloured which I find extremely unfair ,but overall it is an okay airport would love to visit Agadir again.

This place has its up and its downs. Clearly if you're going to travel on a Tuesday or a Saturday then you can expect the airport to be very busy. What you can expect: multiple checks of your passport and baggage. You can look at this two ways; over cautious and poor protocol or making sure everyone is safe. Either way, plan accordingly time-wise, know the rules and you'll be fine. Bags are scanned on entrance to the airport; no liquids restriction at this point. Then you'll show your passport at check-in. Then you'll show it again to get to security. Security is a standard bag check with liquid restrictions. Then there's passport control (an absolute theatre at the best of times). Then your passport visa stamp is checked. There's also a possibility of a security check at the gate. The staff told us on several occasions that this is mandated by the U.K government (it seems likely to be true as this final check didn't occur for other destinations). There is NO landing card required here for UK arrivals/departures. This will have sped things up I am sure. We arrived 2.5 hours before our flight - this seemed to cover us with a little breathing space to stop in duty free and catch our breath. What really annoyed me is that there are clearly too few gates for the number of flights. Ground crew are unprofessional and clueless - arguing with each other. Our gate wasn't advertised for ages and when it finally did appear it then changed moments before boarding leaving 180 people scrabbling to get to another gate. Priority boarding went out of the window, of course. The shops and toilet facilities are okay but queues can be long. In my experience of Egyptian airports this is fairly par; I am used to these airports and plan accordingly both in terms of patience and time. I can imagine others thinking it's the worst airport experience they'll ever have. Chuck an airport porter a few quid and they'll look after you.
