My daughter and I spent 3 very happy days at Riad Rafaele. The building and rooms are beautiful, a haven of peace in the heart of the Medina. The staff and owners are very kind and thoughtful and take a lot of trouble to make you feel welcome and relaxed. We didn't have dinner but the breakfast was always good with plenty of choice (with different options each day) and presented beautifully. The Riad is very old and atmospheric, with stunning craftsmanship everywhere you look. We loved it.

This Riad is by far one of the worst places we have ever stayed in. It is without a doubt a 1-star Riad at 4-star price! We booked our flights and hotel (Riad) via BA, unfortunately, BA misled us stating it was a 4-star Riad. It was the complete opposite! I also regret to say that TripAdvisor reviews for this Riad are all fake and seem highly likely to be written by friends and family of the establishment. (You will only know this once you have stayed at this place). Not only do the reviews not match, in reality even the property amenities and room features listed on TripAdvisor are false. We stayed there for 8 nights and were very disappointed! Airport transportation is not free although you are given the impression it is. Breakfast is not free either as advertised. The claimed swimming pool is a pond, which is the size of a children's inflatable paddling pool, the claimed ‘heated pool’ (the paddling pool) is cold, there are no fitness or spa changing rooms as listed. There are no gift shops/shops as listed but just a small glass wall cabinet with a few body lotions, body gels and oils for sale. The rooms do not have blackout curtains, just thin voile curtains, NO TV's in any of the rooms or anywhere in the property. No wake-up service as no phones in any of the rooms, no alarm clocks, no desks or irons in the room as advertised, the only complimentary toiletries provided are body wash and shampoo which is in plastic refillable containers (not individual mini-sized toiletries or even hand soap as per the photos advertised), we had to buy a tube of body lotion from the Riad (as not provided by the Riad) which had gone off with an awful smell. Strangely, the reviews on TripAdvisor are all 5 out of 5 and one 4 out of 5, and not a single below 4 reviews, even the best 5 -star places don’t have such excellent reviews all at 5 out of 5 and just one 4 out of 5!? 'If it seems too good to be true it's NOT TRUE! In my opinion, this Riad needs to be downgraded to a 1-star or 2-star as maximum! They need to change the photos advertised as they may have been from when the place was first opened. These photos do not reflect the current status. I would not recommend this place to anyone! and please do not trust the reviews for this place. A very poorly managed Riad!

Really beautiful and traditional place, like a large family home with a courtyard in the centre - complete with orange trees and a a small pool. Wife and I booked in for a few days to explore Marrakesh - what a crazy place, where you walk down narrow roads dodging people, bikes, motorbikes, handcarts and donkeys! Very friendly staff who arranged dinner for us at very short notice when we arrived the first evening. Hakkim (housekeeper), Radouin and the lady staff couldn't do enough for us, especially when my wife was taken ill (nothing to do with the food on site) on the last night and Hakkim and his ladies sorted us out so well the following morning. All in all, a really lovely and comfortable place to spend a short break.

We stayed for four nights and really enjoyed our stay, nothing was too much trouble and the setting was really lovely. its worth noting that its close to a mosque and so you will be disturbed every morning (about 4.40am while we stayed) by the early morning call to prayer that seemed to go on for ages). We had dinner here on our first night and it was lovely food and wine, served in an amazing setting and we had the place to ourselves. You need to order in advance so it can be cooked for you and its really good traditional foo

Riad Rafaele was a wonderful experience! Beautiful and very comfortable! The hosts very friendly like joining their family! We had breakfast there and took the evening meals there which were wonderfully prepared! It was fun to have traditional foods! Tours, taxi's and information were readily available as the area can be confusing! We were treated royally! Loved it!
