Hammam Elis SPA

Good one! Professionals, very nice relaxing interior and Nice people! It's really worth thema money!

This was an interesting experience. Me and the wife went for the couple's package (hammam + massage) which was reasonably priced and the spa is located just off the main square. We didn't actually know what it involved, but I feel that I should warn people that there's a certain degree of nudity in front of the staff involved. You're given disposable boxers for the men and a slip for the ladies, but they're quite see through and you will be topless. The staff were quite professional though so at no point did we feel too embarrassed, it was just a bit of a surprise. After the hammam the massage was performed very well.

Having spent 5 days in Marrakech where one afternoon was spent in a spa with hammam and massage my partner and I was excited to squeeze in one extra relaxing massage before the end of the trip. This turned out to be a big mistake and a waste of money. Upon booking we notified what massage we wanted and I explicitly made clear that I had an area of pain which needed most attention. The management was very kind and she asserted that they would perform a stronger massage and also using a special creme to help tackle this area. The massage started - No music at all, dirty umid towels because they didn't change them from the previous massage. The masseuse barely massaged and slotherd oil on and pretty much gave a light rub. At several times the therapists was speaking with eachother and someone else who opened the door so it felt rushed. At one point they just stopped and the massage was done. My partner didn't get the stronger massage as requested and they didn't pay any attention to his problem area. All and all we got dressed walked to reception where we noted we only must have gotten 40 solid minutes of massage. We had to pay the whole price, the management did offer to rub my partner's problem area but after going through this didn't seem like anything we wanted to stick around. Nice gesture but wasn't really helpful as the experience had already left a sour aftertaste. Bottom line - if you're visiting Marrakech take some time and book up appointments before you travel. The cost of a massage in great spa's are around the same price and if you go elsewhere you probably will receive a clean towel and a great experience :-)
