Nice place to visit. We love elephant and please bring some food for them if you have plan to visit. I saw hungry small elephants...

We went in the rainy season. The roads there were good, no problem getting there. At the beginning the staff was not very responsive and no one speaks English (our car driver gave us a bit of help there). After paying for the entrance and for the elephant ride, things started to develop a bit more. We were slightly disappointed because the elephants do not seem to be as free in the wild as we expected from a sanctuary. Nevertheless, the ride and seeing the elephants bathing in the river made it worth it.

This elephant camp is a waste of time. Getting there is not easy. Even the Burmese driver that I had hired had a tough time finding the place. Once we got there, it took us a while to find a groundskeeper. Once we located one, all he was interested in was a 10-dollar entrance fee that he couldn't justify because nobody on site spoke English. There were only a few elephants available, but most of them were in chains. All in all a very disappointing experience.

The camp was hard to get to with not much information online on how to get there. We got there by hiring a car from Tuangoo to see very few elephants around. No one could speak English so we relied on our driver for translation. To be fair we went during low peak season and were the only visitors there. Apparently the bridge was destroyed in a flood so they stopped some of their operations. Good thing was the trainers did treat the elephants nicely, and were very keen on letting guests see what they do. I had a lot of fun playing with a baby elephant who was feeling playful. Overall you might want to consider the time that you’re going, ask the locals in Tuangoo for advice on when to go for better information.
