Dawei Airport

The airport looks old and not clean. Toilet is not clean. Air con is not working well.There is only one coffee shop in the airport. No TV or information boards at the waiting area/lobby. The process is quick as there are few passengers. The airport field is great view with range of green hills background. The air is fresh outdoor.

Small regional airport only 3km from the city center. Staff is very friendly, security check-in works smoothly. We could even take our water with us. There's a single small shop inside after security check with drinks and snacks. I've seen toilets much worse in European discotheques. They even have European toilet seats (frequently). When you arrive too early (we overestimated the size of the ground and arrived around 3h in advance) you're forced to wait outside in one of the cafés for example until a guy with a list appears at the front gate. You pass this, go to a small booth and receive your ticket and drop your baggage there which receives a tag and will be carried outside on a typical airport baggage car, move to some kind of officer who takes notes about your journey (he asked us about the hotel we stayed at in Dawei) and then proceed to the security check 1m next to him. Everything happens within a radius of 5m. Very simple. In January 2020 there were huge A/C machines working. So more convenient waiting time than outside in the cafés (which can be a bit expensive).

was located at Southern of Myanmar. Anyways Dawei airport just only have basic facilities and utilize as domestic airport.

This is a regional airport and they need to renovate and maintain the building and lounge. Also should train the staffs

Dirty airport. Disappointed place.
