Photographic Gallery SMA

I have been going to Jo Brenzo's Saturday social group each year that I come to San Miguel. The group has given me the opportunity to not only learn, but meet other like-minded photographers. In addition, Jo offers a variety of stimulating workshops on site. I took her street photography workshop. She has tremendous knowledge about every detail of photography from how to use your camera to editing. Best of all Jo is offers photography workshops throughout Latin America. I went with her to Cuba...what a delight! She knew every aspect of Cuban life. She has maintained friendships with the locals going back each year to visit with pictures she took the year before. Jo let’s you grow as a photographer...she is organized, has thorough handouts, and a schedule so you can plan accordingly. Jo has workshops to Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Oaxaca, Chiapas and more. I will be going to Argentina with her this year for a thirteen day workshop.

I just attended the Saturday morning coffee time at the Gallery and as always the time was enjoyable and helpful. Forty photographers - mostly amateurs gather to enjoy coffee and cake, socialize and learn something about some aspect of photography. This morning it was a discussion of composition and framing that was led by a very experienced photographer. A lively discussion followed and I felt everyone gained some ideas for the next time we are taking pictures. Another great morning in SMA

Wonderful place and great, interesting staff!

This is an AWESOME gallery. One of the co-owners of the Gallery is Mexican and the other is American, so both Spanish and English are spoken there. The workshops are fabulous. Every Saturday at 11 am, many of the best photographers in San Miguel meet at the Gallery for coffee and presentations on topics of interest to photographers. Come on by. Habla español, the coffee is hot and the cookies are homemade!

Attended a very informative, free, discussion/social about form/composition this morning with over 20 fellow photography enthusiasts. Beginners and pros can benefit. This group meets weekly on Saturdays at 11.
