This is a really wild place! Away from the tourist routes. Arriving in this run-down village called Cenote Azul, you don't see any cenote! Only by asking local peasants can you find him. Naturally, no one here knows English, but you can explain and understand each other with gestures and fingers! By the way, very friendly people. The road here is also fascinating, as on the way here you can see how simple, poor Mexicans live away from the tour. routes. The places are very poor, but very colorful, it feels like here, it's still 60-70 ... Only since then everything has worn out decently ... Only rare, rare modern cars that stand out from the main vehicle fleet of these places remind you in which time you are !!! Police officers at the checkpoint at the entrance to this lonia, a few kilometers from here, were also very kind and friendly to us and patiently explained how to get to the village! The cenote itself is located outside the village, in a thicket of trees next to the plantations of palm and corn, where local men work. You need to go so that the sports field is on your left, in the direction of travel and bypassing it, go outside the village, where you need to find a second, pronounced right turn, turn off and after about 300 meters stop at the end of the road and look to the right, into the thickets, there he is, on the left there will be an open place with a corn field. You can approach the failure without any problems and go down to the water too. You can't see him right away, he is in the thickets of trees at the edge of the corn field - on the right. Wild cenote - not ennobled, 10 meters in diameter. On the edge there is a shed with a couple of pumps and that's it. Locals take water from there to irrigate their crops. The water is clean, transparent, but leaves and branches from trees bent over the water float on the surface. In the water, you can clearly see how black carps, small and rather large, swim in the depths. We did not dare to get into the water here. Creepy. We climbed half an hour around and left. There is no reason to expect here what awaits on the tourist trails, the place is completely, completely wild! But this has its own charm! By the way, there is a shop in the village. Water and every little thing ... I think the locals were stunned by the appearance of white people here with adult children (there were 7 of us) and it will take them some time to discuss such an event ... 😉 When we entered the village in a minivan and drove around it in a circle looking for a cenote 😁, almost immediately, along its entire perimeter, people began to come out and carefully, with interest, watch us ... The question was read in our eyes - what are they doing here?
