Mex Rent A Car

Need much improvement in customer service. Would help if the representatives were more friendly and professional. When it comes to car rental services it is one of the best options.

Never, ever rent from this company. I had a prepaid reservation and they canceled within 24 hours and offered zero help!!! Unbelievable when you have an important appointment to keep!!! I was contacted by someone at Mex rent a car and sent an email to their customer care department. I really don’t expect to hear anything back from them. I’ll keep you updated!

Despite mixed reviews, I went here after rental companies at Cancun airport were trying to scam me. I didn't make an online reservation or anything, I just walked in. It seems most people that have had problems have made online reservations ahead of time. The guys were totally cool and offered me a sedan (not the typical small economy hatchback car) for a really good price, insurance included (about $245 USD for 3 weeks). It was an easy pick up process (from a parking garage a couple of blocks away). I had no problems with the car during those weeks driving around the Yucatan, and upon return, they did inspect the car pretty closely for damage, but there was none, so it was an easy return. I did however get the car cleaned really well inside and out (nearby for $5) before I returned it as I know some places will charge you if the car isn't sparkling clean. I'd definitely rent here again.

A true scam! I reserved, and paid for the car ahead of time for $12 a day for 11 days. I saw the small print about insuramce , so I went ahead and requested a letter front my credit card about my insurance coverage. We arrived late to our destination due to our flight being delayed an hour. They told us that we were too late to pick up the car. I explain that I had not control over. She offered me another car for $18, I was angry but accepted. Then she wanted to charge me $500.00 extra for insurance. I refused as I had all the documents, she said was for the other car, no that one (smaller BTW). My wife showed her that her insurance covers any car, Amy country, the woman said that the reservation was not in her name and she needed to create a new reservation with a new price to use that insurance at $35 per day. What a scam. After debating I bought on line insurance for that typed of car for $123 total, she said it does not counted as she did not had a printed proof, after more debate, I asked her if she would printed from an email that I can send? She refused. She said she can't do that. I was crying as it was now 3.5 hours later.I called the agency in the printed form from the reservation and they asked me for the name of the person. They called and no one answered, when I told the rental car woman, she said they don't have a phone in that location. I told him that and he asked to used my phone and passed to her. They spoke and decided to canceled my prepaid reservation. I was defeated, I crying left the placed 4 hours later. We went to Hertz in Cancun (next door) and they gave us a car for $17 per day, honoring our insurance. They saved the vacation. Buyer beware.. This company is a scam... It was horrible and bottom line... They just wanted more money no matter what! DO NO DO BUSSINESS with them!

I had a reservation today at 4pm with my flight November 29 - after arriving at the agency which the shuttle van took a long time from airport in there. I had the unhappiness to find myself in a line for about or an hour just to be received by the customer service which lacks any to say my reservation was expired and I had to book another vehicle with them for 3 times the amount, I declined and took a taxi. They are a scammed . don't go for their click and bait prices as they will not owner and will sell a rental 3 times the amount you originally booked. Run from them. Just an update to response from the owner: AXP046448 Reservation. It is impressive this types of practices are made towards the customer. I'd like to add yesterday I was not the only one that left the agency not happy, and without a car a couple of people I saw leaving as well - which is counterproductive for the business which builds terrible viral customers reviews from those customers in addition to lose business as people will go to another place to avoid being placed in such situation. I highly recommend to take measurements for improvement and have business practices that do not take advantage of customer like these.
