Hip Hotel Tulum

Best quality price ratio for the beach area hotel. You can have a room directly on the sand with ocean view, you feel like being in a little house in the beach. People working here are really nice, special thanks to Alexis who made our days even better.

Excellent service, and a beautiful beach. The first night we had a room right on the beach, but personally I preferred time garden view as it was 3x as large, which we needed as a family of four including our two kids. Also, I personally didn't like the bugs at night when our room was right on the beach, even with the bed nets and such. The area is nice, but there's not always something for picky kids. The chef actually made gourmet chicken fingers and fries for them even though it is not on the menu. That's the kind of service we received the whole stay.

Lovely rooms and beautiful beach. Love the bungalows. Nice restaurant, perfect for a breakfast at sunrise. Breakfast is one of the smallest I have ever seen (tiny fruit plate and some bread and cupcakes with coffee and orange juice)

Booked a last minute Tulum trip with friends. Arrived at the hotel and the reservations “hadn’t been given to the front desk.” Thankfully, they had 2 rooms left so we waited while they prepared those rooms. We never received the complimentary check in items as a result, despite multiple requests. We spent the next day at the beach. The water was a little rough and sandy so I went to use the outdoor shower just off the beach. I turned it on and the shower head propelled loose and flew into my foot, slicing a giant gash. There was blood everywhere. The hotel staff helped me wash it and gave me a bandaid. It immediately bled through the bandaids so they gave me bandage tape. I spent the rest of the trip limping around with an oozy, bloody wound. Exactly what you want on a sandy beach! What a fun way to spend my first trip in a year! Also, throughout the stay hotel staff kept asking if we were “over 35 and single” (exactly what friends want to be asked on a girls trip!) so they could bus us to their sister property for a free breakfast. When they asked us to sign CONTRACTS, we declined. Unclear what we would have signed away or how we would be used by the hotel. I reached out to the hotel after being injured by their faulty equipment. They acknowledged my email and said “someone would get back to me.” 2 months later I have yet to receive any response from the hotel. Be wary.

A great beach club to spend the day. We spent two days here. Friendly staff and good services plus great beach chairs and beds. Very Instagramable, if that’s what you’re looking for. No minimum spend on the days we visited (Sunday and Friday) (but like many beach clubs this could change depending on the season or day). Good drinks and food at standard beach prices, but nothing that blew my mind, which would justify 5 stars. They accept credit card but staff do prefer / push for tips in cash.
