An iconic monument in the city. It does not stand out in size or location, but it has historical value. It is practically in front of the Church of San Francisco, on 12 Oriente and Boulevard 5 de Mayo. The closest transportation are the routes that circulate on the 12 Oriente and the San Francisco metrobus, line 3.

A great monument that tells a magnanimous story ... what a pity it is so dirty and mistreated!

Puebla, not for this monument, but for all its history, architecture and a lot of culture deserves to be visited. It is one of these cities that one travels "to see what's going on" or stops there as it is on the way to another destination. ..and you fall in love!

On April 16, 1531, the angels descended from heaven and pointed out to Bishop Julián Garcés where he had to build the city, it was a valley crossed by rivers and with hills painted in all shades of green. Hence the name of the new city was Puebla de los Ángeles. In the monument to the founders are the four sculptures of the four founders of the city of Puebla, to the northeast we can find Fray Julián Garcés, to the northwest we will find Juan de Salmerón, to the southeast we have Isabel de Portugal and finally to the southwest is Fray Toribio de Benavente or Motolinia. It is one of the most important but most neglected monuments. The surrounding trees overshadow their existence and the graffiti plus neglect have caused the poor condition and destruction of the sculptures of these characters. I liked that there are a series of angels carrying the Cathedral of Puebla, but the general state of the monument could go unnoticed by the rest of the visitors. When the light of day begins to fade to receive the darkness of the night, the couples that use the garden that is at the back of the monument to unleash their carnal instincts; One cannot help but watch the unleashing of those passions in the vicinity of the monument.
