Well worth the trip from Merida Yucatan

Flamingos! Go here to see thousands in Feb or Mar. Travel by car. Stop after crossing the bridge and turn left. The tour is 1500 pesos. It's easy to join a group or form a group by talking to other tourists. Arrive before the tour busses do at 10:00 am. I wouldn't bother with swimming. Do not make the mistake of going all the way into Celestun and taking a boat from there. It adds an extra hour and pricing is not consistent. They also will crowd the boat.
