El Pizarro

Impressive at sunset from the Perote-Huamantla highway. The sun setting behind its peak gives it a spectacular halo, something mystical. I enjoyed it for almost half an hour that the show lasted.

El Pizarro hill has a height of 3080 meters above sea level. But they are 673 meters of elevation. The ascent is demanding but you soon gain height. Good hiking trail, but basic to use poles. There are several trails at the beginning but it is important to look for the main one that takes you to the top. My tour lasted 2 hours 45 minutes with their respective breaks to the tip. It is important to climb with good weather and hiking boots, as well as your attack backpack. I don't recommend it for beginners, but that's not why it's impossible to climb it. At the top you can see everything around, so the view is fantastic. Be very careful where you step and where you sit. There is vegetation with thorns. Good route to train rocky ascent.

A demanding summit even though it is a small hill. The climate is very dry and the sun is very hot. The vegetation is grassland and there are poisonous animals like rattlesnakes. The trail is well marked to the top. The slope is very steep in the last part before reaching the top.

A difficult climb but with spectacular views, important to climb with professional guides.
