This is a nice stroll. I would highly recommend taking a walk. It starts somewhere near centro (ADO terminal) and leads to the convent. The houses are colorful along the way. Is dotted with some cute cafes and eateries and home decor stores which are quite unique. Some cafes even have bicycles for rent and beautiful garden settings.

The Calzada de los Frailes is a four century old narrow road that connects the Monastery of San Bernardino de Siena, the ancient Mayan barrio of Sisal and the downtown neighborhoods of Valladolid. This is both a residential and commercial street so don't walk into just any door. It is beautiful though and walking down it you feel the blend of the Spanish and Mayan cultures. If you are in need of souvenirs, there is a little shop right at the start called "Colores de Mexico". The prices are a tiny bit high but they are fair and the obviously handcrafted items are carved from the very heart of Mexican culture, blending folk arts of colonial Spanish and indigenous designs like the hand punched tin and wood crosses adorned with little milagros and painted with bright colors that you'd expect to see all across Mexico, but especially in the Caribbean facing Yucatan.

Colorful street full of ancient houses and also some ultra ancient Mayan huts.

Cosy street with lots of shops, bars, restaurants, which feels very different from the rest of Valladolid. It has a European vibe to it, definitely worth checking out! Recommend having food of drinks at La Cafeina.

Nice cafes, nicely restaured street to walk in the evenings.
