Absolutely terrible. They didn't have a car for us so that delayed our vacation plans. We had to walk to a local rental car agency just outside the airport (Valencia car rental) and pay triple the normal price just to fulfill our vacation plans. It's been 3 months later and I still haven't gotten a refund from them. Do not rent a car from this Hertz they are trash.

Wish I would’ve read the bad reviews prior to making my reservation, but as a Gold Plus Rewards member I didn’t think twice. I’m ripping my rewards card and will never use Hertz again. Worst rental experience! They claimed to only have a Suburban, offered to put me on a wait list, when another person returned their mid size the rep offered it at 50% higher rate, then wanted a $3000 USD deposit unless I bought their Hertz collision insurance, which they forced me to buy. Hertz couldn’t care less for its customers.

We rented a car here and have never had such a terrible experience. 1. The costs tripled compared with the originally given amount due to a basic car insurance. About 500 euros for a small car per week??? Sadly, we had to accept it as we were on a tight schedule. 2. The car was handed over to us incredibly dirty. When confronting the employee he told us "ah just return it dirty". 3. The car was not maintained and had severe technical issues with what I think must have been a wheel bearing after one day of little use. 4. We waited about 15 hours for a replacement vehicle and lost reservations due to their not functioning Hotline and lack of replacement vehicles. Our frequent attempts to communicate with Hertz via phone or in writing remained unanswered. 5. To return the car at the end of our renting period we waited an outrageous amount of time (close to 2 hours). We almost missed our flights due to their inability to perform the most basic of services! 6. They haven't returned our deposite upon handover of the second car despite confirming there were no flaws because they needed to check the broken car we had returned 5 days earlier (!!!). This firm has caused nothing but trouble to us. It's more than angering! This is not a standard of service I expect from a multinational firm! I STRONGLY advise against hiring their services!

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE. We arrived with a reservation that we booked two weeks in advance only to learn that they do not have the car that we reserved and “will not honor our reservation”. They “offered” to upgrade our reservation for an absurd price. While we waited for 3 hours for them to finally let us know they don’t and won’t have a car for us, we watched several customers leave in tears/extremely upset because there were unexpected charges. Icing on the cake: they have not picked up their phone to refund the money we already paid.

I’m old school so I would always recommend renting a car when you arrive, don’t get the promos from the online site because I’ve seen tons of times people complaining these are not honored. Every time I get here I rather get the real rate instead having a bad time arguing about something not being honored. The cars are good and I do believe quality is price is fair on the rates
