Very friendly employees. Good service and quick pickup from a waiting van in the airport. Renting cars can sometimes be a hassle but Avis Merida Airport made it easy.

I rented a car online from Merida to Cancun and paid for it on Avis' site. When I got to the office, they informed me that there would be a $180 charge for a different drop off. The agent told me that if I didn't want to pay it, that she would cancel it. But it turns out that she didn't, and that the cancellation fee is $150. I've never been treated so badly.

BS policies with deposit. Just try to sell their insurances and don’t respect the ones you buy via 3rd party like rentalcars. We ended up having to downgrade our class of car from premium to basic, although we have paid for premium class and additionally had to pay for extra insurance in order to lower the deposit as our credit card does not 70,000 pesos credit limit! That’s what they call customer service!! Good luck!!
