National Car Rental

This office gives you cars with worn out tires and offers cars that have been crashed. I had to return to the office to claim and get a car replacement because the tire was very low after riding 10 miles. It is impossible trusting in an office that gives you cars were your safety is in danger.

National rocks wherever it is. Love the emerald aisle convenience. This location was under construction. So a lot more dust and dirt. But National could do better on that front by at least putting in clay or some other hard material to reduce the dust. We got a lot of it on us, on our luggage and in the car. I am sure it will all be better once the renovation is done. But the customers are inconvenienced until then. The staff here was helpful as in most other locations. I recommend checking the cars available to see what features you want. I needed a USB port and only one (less inventory because of construction) had it. I got that. But even that was not charging fast enough. Do better with the cars here National.

Love this national. fair, honest, and up front about the cost. The kindest and friendlyest rental company at Merida airport.

They will try to upsell you with "mandatory insurance", however you can just say no, if you threaten to walk away, they will let you put a hold on your card instead of insurance. The hold is $2500, which is standard when declining insurance. So long as you can front that, you get the price you reserved.
