Pirámide Kinich Kakmó

A great place to see when you’re in Izamal. Make sure you have the right footwear because the path to the pyramid is rough and stoney. You can climb to the top and enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings. The orchard provides lots of shade and is a perfect place to sit and relax specially in the heat of the day. Expect lots of exotic birds and of course, mosquitoes.

Climbable Mayan ruins! This is the 3rd tallest mayan structure on the peninsula, easily accessed and free to explore. Not restored, it is not like the pyramid at Chichen Itza or Coba it is built with large platforms at various levels so climbing is easier. You can bring a picnic and rest under the trees on the middle platform, then climb to the top for a commanding view.

This mayan pyramid is incredible, is free entrance at is not as busy as other mayan archeological zones such as Chichen-Itza or Tulum. You can climb this and have a gorgeous 360° view of the jungle.
