The FIDE Apostolic Propaganda College of San José de Gracia was founded in 1803 in Orizaba, Veracruz. The original educational complex included apart from the Temple of San José, the ex-convent, the sanctuary of the Lord of Otatitlán, today the Rectory of Our Lady of Solitude and an extensive orchard where today the bicentennial Park exists on one side of the Rio de Orizaba; according to plans of Manuel Tolsá.
