This is a neat tourist attraction that you can rent a water taxi to visit. The monkeys that live on the island are fun to watch. The boat will also take you over to the witches, mud mask, and onto the ecological/archaeological parks so it is worth the money.

Visited this area in mid 80's. What a treat! Lake was beautiful and fed by mineral springs. Monarch butterflies covered trees near lake. Observed monkees from a small boat when a local asked - answer was yes and he paddled(!) 2 of us out to view. Nearby waterfall with local cave nesting birds above wadeable stream. Just the best.
