The Protected Natural Area San Felipe II, represents the last bastion of evergreen high evergreen forest. Jaguar habitat, Tapir, spider monkey, howler monkey, toucans, among others. It is to be recognized that after many years of struggle, the State Government has joined efforts with the community and its inhabitants to protect 10,574 hectares of high biological diversity.
