Templo de Santa María Tonantzintla

Beautiful church. It’s in Cholula. This is a church built by the people of this town. The local people wished to have their own church free of any external influence whether political or religious. The people don’t allow take photos of the inside of the church, that’s an offense to the local people. Inside you can see original sculptures, in the walls and the roof. You can see many sculptures of faces with special factions, they show the mixed race with the native people and the Spanish colonist.

The unique mixture between native Mexican culture and Spanish Catholic architecture.

Unique indigenous baroque church absolutely worth a journey for it’s incredible interior covered with individually sculpted heads and native produce.

Inliked this church because of the depictions of indigenous people, which is fairly rare to see. They don't allow for pictures because they try to sell them to you when you leave. The market outside th church is small but nice. I bought a beautiful sweater and some delicious bread.
