I loved the tour that they offered at this gallery. It was amazing to see artists at work and some of the amazing and colorful traditional animal sculptures. This is also the location where the illustrators involved with the movie Coco from Disney came to study. In the kitchen, you'll also find the inspiration for the grandmother character. She's pretty adorable. They also offer the tour in English and it's all free.

They give a really thorough and interesting overview of the alebrijes and the entire process of making them, both in the traditional and modern way. Their work is on another level entirely, we enjoyed everything about the tour and their art.

Incredible and progressive craftsmanship of a centennial art-form. Highly recommended to understand the effort and thought behind these pieces of Mexican folklore, as created by modern masters.

This is the gold standard of alebrijes. You can truly see the Zapotec influence, and the years of work and artistry in each piece. Every single alebrije is simply mind blowing and worth every single cent they're worth. Everyone in the shop is humble and the owner himself along with his wife are two of the kindest, most transparent people. Very, very unique shop/gallery.

Largest and best quality Alebrijes Workshop in town. They mostly focus on large and custom made orders, but your is free and very educational. Also have a gallery in downtown Oaxaca. Expensive, but if you are looking for very best this is it.
