Car was not available at arrival. No reason why - just go away and call customer service. Right now I don't have money and no one response on my emails about refund. Totally unprofessional.

They own up to their mistakes. We don't remember the name of the employee who first assisted us in getting the car but we can tell you that many things went wrong. 1. If they don't have the car you booked online, they shouldn't charge for an "upgrade" you are not asking for. 2. In CDMX, Mexico's state and the state of Hidalgo they have a "circulation program" which controls their vehicles' traffic to improve their air quality. (Apparently the state of Hidalgo is doing it because of Covid regulations to keep as may people home as possible). Depending on the last digit of your car's plate, you may or may not drive it a certain day. We did not know this, and we are still unaware if any other state in Mexico follows these same regulations. Of course we had the bad luck to get a car with a "5" at the end of the plate, drove it on a Monday in Hidalgo, and got pulled over by a cop who advised us of all this. The legal procedure was for the vehicle to be impounded until 12am plus to pay for a fine. But he knew the car was a rental, he knew we were not locals and had no clue of what was going on so he offered to "charge" us right there and then for the ticket. A ticket he never gave us... So, this my friends is what is known as a "mordida" (the officer asked for a bribe)... Luckily though, when we returned the car, Juan and Humberto were really empathetic and understood what we went through, fixing all of the first employee's mistakes like charging us for that upgrade and not asking where we were heading because if he would have asked, he would have known we were driving to Hidalgo and he would have not given us that car in the first place. 3. And 3rd, this was our mistake. When we returned the car, they noticed a scratch on it that we swore was there already but it never occurred to us to take pictures and or video when they first gave us the car, so we did have to pay for that but Humberto and Juan because of the previous experience, did adjust a discount for us and explained step by step what we needed to do to claim the refund with our insurance. They made sure we got pictures this time, at least for the insurance company. So, overall we would just advise you to read thoroughly through the charges you are signing for, to tell them where you are going and to take pictures and video of the car they are giving you, and you'll be fine. They have great prices and great customer service so thanks to Humberto and Juan we will rent with them again.

Avoid these scammers! They charge money for the interior issues the car already had. Never ever!

Fraudulent Criminals! Firstly, the price I paid was SIX TIMES the quoted price - and the lines are customer service are abysmal. Then, I called and asked to return the car 2 days early (at risk of borders closing due to Covid-19). I sat on hold for 40 mins, but was told YES, I would get a refund. I returned the car early and had it all signed off with a rep. I was told that there was normally a FEE for returning early, but because I had called, they wouldn't charge. What?! Finally, I signed papers for a $30 refund. I continually checked my bank account. I had not received a refund. I had been charged another $130 a week later. It took 5 emails for them to tell me it was due to 'scratches'. I asked for photo proof - which was so small, I could not even tell where it was. I was being charged for someone else's damage! I had also NO word on the refund. It is not almost a month later. With calls from Australia and multiple emails to Ivette and customers service, I have had no response. DO NOT RENT WITH MEX ! ¡Criminales fraudulentos! (ver también ES / FR) En primer lugar, el precio que pagué fue SEIS VECES el precio cotizado, y las líneas de servicio al cliente son abismales. Luego, llamé y pedí que devolviera el automóvil 2 días antes (con riesgo de que se cierren las fronteras debido a Covid-19). Me quedé en espera durante 40 minutos, pero me dijeron que sí, que me reembolsarían. Regresé el auto temprano y lo firmé con un representante. Me dijeron que normalmente había una TARIFA por regresar temprano, pero como había llamado, no me cobraron. ¡¿Qué?! Finalmente, firmé documentos para un reembolso de $ 30. Revisé continuamente mi cuenta bancaria. No había recibido un reembolso. Me habían cobrado otros $ 130 una semana después. Se necesitaron 5 correos electrónicos para que me dijeran que se debía a 'arañazos'. Pedí una prueba de fotografía, que era tan pequeña que ni siquiera podía decir dónde estaba. ¡Estaba siendo acusado por el daño de otra persona! Tampoco tenía palabra sobre el reembolso. Je me suis assis pendant 40 minutes, mais on m'a dit OUI, j'obtiendrais un remboursement. J'ai rendu la voiture plus tôt et j'ai tout signé avec un représentant. On m'a dit qu'il y avait normalement des frais pour revenir tôt, mais parce que j'avais appelé, ils ne facturaient pas. Quelle?! Enfin, j'ai signé des papiers pour un remboursement de 30 $. Je vérifiais continuellement mon compte bancaire. Je n'avais pas reçu de remboursement. On m'avait facturé 130 $ supplémentaires une semaine plus tard. Il m'a fallu 5 courriels pour me dire que c'était dû à des "rayures". J'ai demandé une preuve photo - qui était si petite que je ne pouvais même pas dire où c'était. J'étais accusé pour les dommages de quelqu'un d'autre! Je n'avais également AUCUN mot sur le remboursement. Ce n'est pas près d'un mois plus tard. Avec les appels de l'Australie et plusieurs courriels à Ivette et au service client, je n'ai eu aucune réponse. NE PAS LOUER AVEC MEX
