I have rented a car in December 2020. I have booked a 4x4 Jeep Wrangler or similar. Nissan X-trail 2WD. The tyres at the back had less than 1 mm profile on. That was absolutely not what I have expected!

Sin usar cubrebocas. No masks during COVID. Scam. They try to change the price when you return the car. We had to wait an hour to pick up the car because it needed service. Car was trashed with scratches and scrapes everywhere. Over 50,000km on it. They charged me to repaint the bumper for a scrape the valet parking guy put in. I have insurance so it's no cost to me, but they are scamming people by having them pay for a bumper multiple times over without actually fixing it.

I made a reservation with Alamo months in advance but when I landed from my 6am flight in Mexico City, I was informed that they had given my car away. Be careful if renting from this location during high travel season - this happened to us during the Christmas season. I was told they won't honor your reservation if it gets busy and they will run out of vehicles quickly, potentially leaving you stranded and looking for alternatives at the last minute. Would not recommend doing business with this location

2 time and last time, Worst experience I’ve ever had with any car rental company in this place, first off because the reservation I made online in Expedia was not legit, that when I reserve online I have to make it on the Alamo.com.mx website as stated by one of the workers and then when I was going to get the car they came out that I needed to purchase their insurance when my credit card covers the vehicle and it’s used as insurance, so then they stated that if I needed to get a car with out there insurance I had to leave a 2 million pesos deposit which translates to over 100,000 dollar deposit. The price for the car went for 98 dollars to over 700 dollars with there insurance, I don’t even pay that much for 6 month on my car that’s fully insured. When I asked for a manager there excuse was that he wasn’t available and we would have to wait for the manager for over 3 hours when a manager should always be present, so why is there a manager if he’s not even present when he’s needed so asked them to contact the manager and there excuse was that he’s not available and has not picked up a phone call. I went ahead and went to my usual car rental company witch is herts and I got the same car for only 200 dollars insured by them

Normally have a bad experience renting cars in Mexico. For not having insurance they just put a 61,000 deposit on my card. I rented at 6 other companies and this was not even an option. They would not rent a car to me without their insurance at all. In Mexico it’s good practice to make a reservation with all companies so you can go to everyone too see which ones will rent you the car without their insurance. So if you don’t want to pay the high insurance rent here. Also I rented for a week and returned after 4 days. They refunded me the extra days. I’ve rented cars in over 100 counties. And only two countries has an company ever done that which was Albania and Mexico. I think the trick is to get them to charge you for the rental when you return. So when I come back here Alamo will be my first choice
