Merang jetty

Quiet, lack of public facilities, less publicity, & state government promotions compared to 10 years ago

Nearest to Pulau Redang and takes about 45 minutes. But if water level low need to wait for depart for big boat.

Went to redang island third week of august 2020. Took the boat here at merang jetty. Free open parking space is available. Also available according to my conversation with local is covered parking but its not exactly near the jetty so you will have to ask around. Place is clean. There are covered speed boats here. Some bigger than the other which means more stable. All seems to be covered at top. Some speed boats fully covered as well. Takes 35 to 40 min to redang island jetty. If you want bigger ferry, you have to head to syahbandar jetty.

Open parking lot at RM10 per day. There's one with CCTV to give you some peace of mind going to the islands. If you are lucky, you'll get the covered car park, else the open air is aplenty. They also provide public toilet and bathroom at a minimum cost.

I like the fact that the jetty is not crowded. Very basic jetty. Open car park is provided, but not covered if you are particular about it. Speedboat schedule is based on sea water tides so might defer or on schedule.
