If you have to wait some hours here for your train, you can go to shops 10 minutes away on foot

The staff counter ticket is rude and doesnot have knowledge about the train schedule.when i ask the train schedule,all she answer is dont know.no need to workla like that if u dont know anything. I had to risk my money to buy the train ticket either the train operate that day or not.

Big train station, with integrated thai/malay immigration stations, get stamped out of thailand and stamped in to malaysia within same building and vice versa. Small restaurant upstairs. Eat at hat yai/butterworth before getting here or bring your own food and water. NO place to change money, so bring malay ringgits and/or thai baht. NO ATM. Mind 1 hour time difference between malaysia and thailand. Padang besar is very small town so not much to see. Can purchase train tickets in station. Thai ticket office is on ground floor (platform level) and malay (ktm) ticket office is upstairs. Ktm train (platinum) costs 104 ringgits to KL sentral, kommuter train to butterworth costs 11.4 ringgits. See pictures for thai train details

Clean and quite station

Its quiet and peaceful place.. But the best thing the food.. for spicy food lovers you can try @ padang besar street food.. start from 6pm till 10pm only..
