Van der Valk Hotel Avifauna

Amazing place for family going out. You can easily spend there 5-hours. The birds are very beautiful. The bird show is spectacular! The playground is huge, so you can take a breath while your kids are playing:)

One of our favorite hotels of the Netherlands. At Avifauna my wife and I park and forget the car. We hang out at different areas on the Hotel grounds - bird park, several snack areas , restaurants, hotel bar, boat rides, playground for kids, and casino for adults. More than enough to keep you busy for a small get-a-way. Tip: hotel guests are allowed into the bird park before it opens and after it closes. The lighting and shadows are perfect at those times for taking photos.

This place is much improved since my first stay about two years ago. This is due to a major refurbishment that was on going when I visited. The rooms are really nice and modern now. The Breakfast was good with a wide selection buffet. If you like birds then you will like the mornings when The aviary will be a delight. One thing is that the pool is not actually at the hotel but at a local leisure centre so beware.

Great hotel, with some parts of the hotel physically inside the bird park Avi Fauna. They have remodelled the rooms, upped their breakfast game, and have great cleanliness. The lobby, hallway, and bar are still the original from a few decades ago, which gives a great authentic look. Rooms are clean with a large smart tv. Will stay here again.

They have a zoo!!! Just watch your kids when they can see lemurs anytime your stay. The hotel, breakfast is also alright.
