VMS Real Estate, or rather Jan Bart van Merksteijn, is a very rude and anti-social landlord. As a landlord, he knows his rights and obligations well and uses that knowledge to fill his own pockets even more and to disadvantage his tenants. His company cannot be reached by telephone, a response by e-mail sometimes takes months and the mailbox of his company does not receive letters. A good example is a reported leak that was not resolved until 15 months after reporting. I advise another tenant not to transfer rent during the last month but to settle it against the deposit so that you do not lose it. In our case, he thought that we were rent arrears and when you send the statements you will no longer receive a response. Only after calling in a collection agency will he transfer to payment.
Jan Bart treats everything and everyone in his environment that way and thinks he is better than the rest. Where that comes from remains a mystery because with the support he has received, everyone in real estate can achieve success. Making extra profits to the detriment of your tenants does not seem like a business to be proud of. It is not a good idea to rent a house at VMS.
I do not recommend anyone to rent a house at VMS. Very poor communication and literally waiting for an answer by email for weeks.
Do you want to live in your new home without stress and worry? Do not rent from VMS.
Very unclear in communication. House involved several defects. If you say something about that, you will be ignored and then very rude. In the end it was even threatened to evict us the next day while just paying rent
