We celebrated my birthday at ‘Aramos’, which turned out to be the perfect choice! The meal was excellent, and we could not have wished for better service! The proprietor had offered me a surprise menu of unlimited Greek starters and main-course, with 4 drinks/person included in the fixed price, which was ideal for the occasion and a group of 7 adults who all enjoy good food and drink. Although the restaurant is small and intimate, they accommodated our group easily. We thoroughly enjoyed a variety of Greek starters as well as an amazing selection of beautifully prepared meats and fish, which was served by the friendly, attentive staff on two huge platters, with salad, rice and potatoes on the side, and a very good dry Greek red wine. The little extras at the end of our meal were a lovely surprise: The proprietor himself congratulated me a piece of cake, sparkler and live serenade included, and a shot of Ouzo for everyone. I can thoroughly recommend ‘Aramos’ to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience, easy walking distance from the centre of Assen.

We had ordered a Christmas dinner a few days ago which would be delivered. Unfortunately they were 1.5 hours late due to the wrong recording of the delivery time. No excuse was made; "It's annoying", was said very much. The delivery person did give a present: a bottle of wine without any excuse, but we declined this on principle. That mistakes are made a la, but that no further "sorry" has been said, I find it very unfortunate. The children were no longer hungry because it was already too late. After some app contact they find it annoying and admit they made a mistake. A bottle of wine and extra desserts should soften it, but we don't have to order or come and have dinner here a second time. The food tasted good, that was a comfort!
