Initially, the place I was living in was managed by a different agency. Halfway through my contract, the house owner changed the agency. I was not informed of any changes or additional costs that I may face. After living in the place for about a year, I wanted to move out. The arrangement made with previous agency was that I tell them 30 days before moving out and either I or the agency finds a new tenant. So according to that arrangement, I told this (new) agency on Oct 2, mentioning that I will be moving out on November 15th (Note: all this was happening during peak Covid-19 time, when finding a new tenant is difficult). But they disagreed with me and said that I have to pay the amount for whole November even though I told them almost 45 days in advance (stating that 1 calendar month notice - Pl notice how far Sept 30 is from Oct 2 🙄) What's worse is that, when I told the agency that it is rude and unfair to charge me the rent for whole November, I got a reply saying that it is my mistake for not pointing it out before. To which I replied saying that I didn't do it because it is obvious that they have my deposit of 425 euros and so I didn't say anything as a helpless Expat & student in NL. In the end, I got blamed saying it is my mistake for informing 2 days late (Sep 30 - Oct) (even though the agency knew that it is difficult to find a tenant during covid, and it is agency's & owner's mistake for not informing tenants of new rules) and charged unnecessarily up to 220 euros. Wait, there's more. I got charged 28 euros for cleaning even though I left my room in perfect and clean condition. But the issue is that, I already paid 200 euro as cleaning charge to old agency. When I mentioned that, they just dismissed my reasoning and said things work here differently and they are not liable for any old promises. All in all, I would not at all recommend renting from this agency or House owner H. Poel. Please don't go with them, especially if you are an Expat Professional or an International Student, they'll probably screw you over. Edit: FYI, there is a provision in dutch law under corona virus exemption. Laws exist to make sure that there is a common ground, not to exploit them. One more thing, please don't talk as if though it's the mistake of the previous agency for charging 200 euros, at least they informed. You charged me 235, for no reason even while knowing that it is not fair and unethical and now you state the law. Though the previous agency was late in doing certain repairs, it was better at understanding tenants and their issues. Also, you can stop giving yourself 5 stars with the help of your own management team, it is a conflict of interest.

To begin with, Homey Housing is, in my opinion, a group of money grubbers who are preying on expats and students. The rent they ask for rooms is on the high side, not that this is a problem ... Because their rooms look very good on the website. However, the price / (service) quality is far out of proportion. My period at Homey Housing ran from September 16 to January 31. During this period I have sent over a dozen emails with many problems to the apartment. Often something was done about the problems, however we spent more than 2 months repairing the extractor hood, the balcony door was "fixed" somewhere in September ... but after 1 week of use, he already wanted no longer close and my frame was leaky and repaired up to 2 times in 3 months. But when the roof started to leak right above my bed and I tried to contact us about this in all forms * during working hours of homey housing *, I was tired. I had my hands in my hair and contacted Younes, a colleague of the owner of the apartment. By coincidence I saw his contact details, I did not receive these from Homey Housing. Due to the late hour, Younes was unable to respond until the next morning. Despite this, he was still at my door early in the morning with a mechanic. After talking to him, he helped me terminate my lease early. Later that day I got an email back from Homey Housing that they were not obliged to answer in time and that they did nothing wrong. I had to sleep on a 1.50m couch because the roof was leaking right above my bed and they came with the comment that they were not obliged to answer me in time. I am very angry about this to this day. Finally, there was also a problem with the payment of my deposit. This was a few hundred euros too little. However, after emailing Homey Housing, there was a quick response that this was their mistake. This was well arranged after 24 hours. As a result of my experience with Homey Housing, I will not advise anyone to rent from them. I am very grateful to Younes for rushing me to get rid of Homey Housing.

Very committed employees, involved and unburdening. Really recommended when you are away for a while and would like to earn some money from your vacant home. Not noticed when I came back and still an extra pocket money after a holiday :)
