Great place, nice location, friendly employees, things arranged in an organized manner and in different departments. Sniffed for an hour until closing time. Nice books and glassware bought. And bought 2 bookends from made with 2 old agfa-click cameras. Very special the lamps that are made from recycled cameras. More than worth a visit!

Emmaus Swalmen, very beautiful place where pearls can be found. Certainly a thrift store but one that strives for hospitality and quality. No cluttered mountain with "junk" but nice and useful items that are significantly cheaper than in regular stores. A lot of hard work is being done here because this organization keeps its pants on, nothing subsidies! Emmaus Swalmen also supports various social organizations and people in need from her income. Look ... and then every euro is well spent, for everyone :)

Emmaus Swalmen has finished for me. I have been coming here almost every week since the opening and in the past I have bought a lot of nice (collecting) things. I wholeheartedly support Emmaus's charity with my purchases and I also regularly eat and drink something. After not having had the opportunity for a few weeks, I went sniffing again today. I noticed that a lot had changed in those few weeks. Not only in terms of the design, but also in terms of prices. I was shocked to see a hat. I felt more at a antique shop than at a thrift store. Normally I always buy some items, but this time the prices were too much for me and I didn't buy anything. Finally, I entered the bookstore and addressed the lady there with the words: "I hope at least the books have not become very expensive, because I am really shocked by the new prices." To which she said to me: "If you think the prices are too high, I advise you to look for another store". I said, well that's nice, can't you as a regular customer here express constructive criticism? That was not allowed, "together we determine the prices and everything in life becomes more expensive, so here too". That life is becoming more expensive is that not one of the reasons that people get into trouble and end up with Emmaus? Is a thrift store not obliged to its less fortunate customers to NOT become more and more expensive? Anyway, I take the advice of that book lady to heart and go find another charity where I can spend my hard-earned euros.
