We were lucky that we met Karen in a challenging time. She supported us very lovingly and helped us to say goodbye in way we could not have imagined. She accompanied us, helped us, guided us were we needed it, and respected our ways were it was important to us. With a lot of sensitivity and warmth she helped us to create a loving and individual burial that suited us and touched us deeply. Karen became a friend, that we will always treasure. Dear Karen, thank you for your great work!

Karen Admiraal of Buitengewoon Farewell more than lives up to the name. In this sudden death, I asked a friend who worked in a hospice for the best person for the kind of goodbye we had in mind. The first blessing was that Karen was available. The warm, sincere, patient attention she gave us the day before Christmas immediately gave us the confidence to surrender to her guidance in order to realize a suitable farewell together. She has perfect timing in a listening ear, sketching special possibilities and taking the next step in the organizational process. The small scale really appealed to us. The simplicity we envisioned in combination with appropriate symbolism that suits us was fully expressed. The safe place where our loved one could stay until the final farewell made it complete. As a contact person for the family, I could contact you at any time of the day and there was an immediate response, even during the entire Christmas that followed. Taking sustainability into account with regard to the choices that had to be made has guided them perfectly. For me this is saying goodbye with an open heart, which gives the experience a loving strength and softness. Personally, I find it very natural anyway for a woman to accompany the entire farewell process, nurturing, protecting, loving and professional at the same time. Knowing that there are many men well suited to this task, I personally prefer the feminine energy. For a long time I hope not to experience an immediate death of a loved one and if it ever happens then I no longer need to ask for advice, then I know to contact Karen immediately, for an Extraordinary Farewell. We are very grateful.

Karen is committed and very professional. Her guidance around our son's farewell was exactly what we needed, in the form of a perfect balance between expert advice, loving thinking outside the box with us, and immediately arranging things as soon as a decision was made, regardless of the time. Sad as the reason for the funeral was, it was perfect, and far from "standard". We could not have wished for a nicer, warmer farewell.
