I ive in Canada, and love speculaas. Last week I saw in the store that they had speculaas brokken., so i bought them. but to my dismay they tasted horrible, Never had such a bad speculaas.

Same experience as Ina. I also live in Canada and I have bought speculaas chunks tonight. They have probably been in the store for months because they are terribly old and cannot be eaten, they also smell musty. The packaging has a shelf life of at least: see imprint, but this imprint cannot be found anywhere. Can't blame the retailer for selling old speculaas. The chunks of Ina probably have the same problem, so from now on please state a date as it should be.
