Nothing interesting about the station itself. It is a small station with nothing much to offer, however, it is the most convenient way to visit Giethoorn for those who are using public transportation as the bus stop to Giethoorn is right in front of the station. The little town near the station is a nice one with many beautiful landed houses. A good place to stroll around, enjoying the atmosphere there.

the staff was a liar, we took the bus 70 to Giethoorn, actually child under 3 years old the bus ticket not required and over 4 year old child just 2 need about 2 euros , however the staff men told us no matter how old of children the bus ticket is required and asked us to buy the return bus tickets total 16euros which useless for us, we lost 14 euros on this ! don’t know why that such liar can work for NS. this is really bad image and disappointed of Netherlands！ Unfortunately there is no zero star we can select, otherwise I will give it “Zero star”

Nice station with the option to rent a bike. Something remarkable is that this station has a tourist information. Haven't seen that anywhere else in the Netherlands. A lot of the signs here are in Chinese, I don't like it, but I get it. It's because at least half of the people using this station is from China and doesn't speak a word English let alone Dutch.

Starred from Slotenjik via Amsterdam Central Station, Steenwijk nd Giethoorn, the travelling was excellent by Dutch Railways with free Wi-Fi (the ticket was included with Bus starting from slotenjik station to Giethoorn and Canal Cruise in Giethoorn (two way ticket)) really worth for money , arrived at Steenwijk station, was very surprised beautiful view (visited in April 2018) the weather was cold (perfect too) the station is with the option to rent a bike. Something remarkable is that this station has a tourist information. Haven't seen that anywhere else in the Netherlands. Train station heading to go to the beautiful Giethoorn from the Train Station ride the No. 70 bus to go to the village of Giethoorn but you have to make sure the time of the last bus back to the station from Giethoorn.
