Excellent, lovely lunch, really tasty soup and beautiful sandwich

A simple little eatery in the heart of Alkmaar, with quirky decors and a simple, tasty and affordable lunch menu. We had 3x hot chocolate and 3x bowls of pea soup, served with hot crusty bread & garlic butter. Service was friendly and efficient.

Even with a social deal, a very poor price-quality ratio. Except for 1 couple we were the only one and yet we had to wait 10 minutes for a bottle of lukewarm water. Some of the choices that were displayed on social deal were not on the menu (which they themselves had to write quickly). Eventually got a dry white ball that did not contain all the named ingredients.

Ordered 2x lunch via Social deal. You get a cup of soup that is flavorless and definitely comes from a can. Then we chose the croquette sandwich, which was served on a dried-out white bun. In addition, a dried tomato was sitting on a filthy reused pick. At the checkout Mr. charged 5.60 euros for 2x Diet Coke. While the menu stated 2 euros per glass. When asked for an explanation, mister got angry and after some discussion paid 4 euros, after which mister said: "now you can go on holiday again". The service was rude and unprofessional I think the owner's son. Never again this case for us. What a disappointment.
