After calling them, they informed us very well on what to do and came by our apartment within half an hour. Everyone involved was very friendly and professional. It is important to have institutions like this.

Very nice people, they even allowed me to charge my phone :)

Great work is being done here! The animal ambulance is completely run by volunteers, so it is more than normal that the reporter is asked to cooperate in cases where they do not have enough people to get there themselves. As an animal lover I personally do not find it any trouble to bring an animal in such a case. I went there yesterday, and the work alone to take care of all the animals on site is a lot of work. Everything looked neat and the animals were in good shape. They really do their best to give all animals the attention they deserve and clearly have a heart for it.

TWO TIME in ONE WEEK, had a bad experience. One call for a stray cat under the maggots and flies and another call for an injured bird in need. Both times the "ambulance brothers" could not take action for animals in need. THANK YOU, BOTTLE OF DIRT. Hopefully you will be treated the same in times of need.

Too bad about all that negativity, which in some cases is very unjustified. The Animal Ambulance does not receive anything from the Municipality of Maastricht and has to pay for the expenses itself and depends on donors! So it makes perfect sense that they ask for a contribution by means of a paid 0900 number. I have had good experiences with the Animal Ambulance regarding the collection of injured or emaciated pigeons and tips to release young blackbirds that have just fledged in a safe high place, so that the blackbird parents can safely feed and bring their young. LOGICALLY that the Animal Ambulance asks for a little cooperation, by capturing the injured animal and putting it in a box if possible. (A bucket covered with a mop also works if you don't have a box). And there is such a thing as soap, if one is afraid of dirty hands. A young, lost human child is also brought to safety first (eg from a dangerous busy road) and if the human child is dirty, do you also take care of him / her ?! These volunteers are unpaid 24 hours a day for sick and injured animals and of course mistakes are sometimes made. Before you only criticize: HOW big is your own commitment to animals in need of help? Ooh ... just call their phone number ... with a cup of coffee / tea with a cookie, hanging in the bank ...
