Art Hotel Rotterdam

It is officially a 4 stars hotel, but if you compare it with the van der Valk hotel (which is also a 4 stars hotel), this is probably not higher than 3. The hotel is cheap, and well connected to the metro and public transports, however, our room smelled of smoke from the moment we stepped in, until the moment we left. We even changed room, but the smell probably comes from the AC system, and from the corridors. The last day we stayed in the hotel we smelled weed in our hallway and that is why we would not recommend this hotel for a nice quiet stay, unless you don't mind such atmosphere. On the bright side, the personnel is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very nice and the waitresses are also very helpful and kind. We didn't try the dinner at the restaurant, but it seemed alright.

Good hotel, spacious rooms, comfortable stay overall

Average hotel. Rooms look relatively nice on the inside but rest looks a bit strange and dated. Hallways feel like an old hospital. Parking was also a challenge. Entrance is small. You can not go in until you check in and some parking spaces have weird lift mechanism to stack 2 cars on top of each other (photo attached). You can not check out until you leave the parking, as you have to return the keys first. So between going out of garage and check out you need to street park (there was parking enforcement officer nearby so you might also get a fine/warning for parking somewhere it’s not allowed to park). Check in was also lengthy. Took 3 hotel staff members to handle the check in process.

I have spent only one night in this hotel so I cannot write a lot of information about it, but... The personal was nice and helpful, location is good. I like the idea of parking. The room was okay but air conditioning was a bit too loud even on the lowest work.

Fine hotel. looks artsy. Not really a 4 star hotel. There was a watercooker in the room, but no coffee nor tea. You couldn't even buy this in the hotel itself. Seems more like its just over 3 stars instead of "a proud 4"
