Friendly service, but a lot of inedible stuff. If we were anywhere else on earth, this place would be out of business. Inedible croissants, strange pain aux chocolat, really bad pain aux rasin etc etc etc. Groningen is improving though, so this place should soon give space to something better. Fingers crossed.
I felt in love with bread after tasting the 4-mouten at this bakkery. Very decent bakkery in the city centre, would recommend!

I have been eating bread from baker Meijer for 40 years. The last years of Stadsbakker Meijer. Must be a good baker (family). However?
Last year I bought bread and a ginger gingerbread here a few times, which made me happy. This week I bought a few loaves of bread and a bag of buns which just wasn't tasty. Comparable to cheap factory bread from a supermarket and the buns just as tasteless and dry. Baguette at this bakery is just like that of 'van Dijk bakker', light or meaningless and nothing French about it. What a rude awakening, especially after having been of quality at the end of last year.
@reaction, this was on Tuesday: a standard brown bread, oat bread and dark (multigrain?) dumplings.
