Unfortunately a very special experience with Mrs. Hilhorst. I was there for a wage claim case. During my first interview I was asked several times about my ethnicity, then I gave the name of my manager here too, she asked if it had the same ethnicity as me. After this she asked about the ethnicity of my employer, which she concluded based on surname that it was similar to mine. If that wasn't enough, she ends up asking if my employer and I have a relationship based on her own conclusion about our comparable ethnicity, which of course was not true. I felt embarrassed and not taken seriously by someone who should have helped me, this case had nothing to do with race or ethnicity and you would think that a lawyer is professionally and emotionally aware not to ask these kind of weird questions even though this person may have his or her own prejudices. This conversation was incredibly unprofessional, disappointing and the start of a chaotic collaboration. I have now had to file a complaint that has not been dealt with after weeks, but it is clear that ethnicity and race are extremely important here and that you will be treated accordingly, something I do not wish anyone to accept. I have already paid for my business, but I will probably not see it again. Hopefully someone else can avoid a similar situation because of this.
