The policy regarding investments in the palm oil sector of ING is very much to my chest. The reason for this is the fact that many hectares of rainforest are felled for the construction of palm oil plantations. This is a serious matter because 1.) the rainforest is essential for the production of oxygen we breathe, 2.) the rainforest is a source of unique plant compounds that are indispensable for the development of medicines, now and in the future, 3 ,) the rainforest is the habitat of beautiful animal and plant species, many of which are endangered. By cutting down rainforest, we rob ourselves and future generations of an enormous and indispensable natural resource. I don't want that, many others don't want that with me, and if you look deep into your heart, you don't want to. Real wealth is not money, but natural resources and I bet you want your kids to enjoy it too. Prosperity without well-being is poverty. Therefore, please withdraw your investments in palm oil plantations or ensure that no valuable rainforest is felled for the construction of these plantations. Then my review of your bank will be more positive in the future.
