Actually every station that is hardly used has a reason why it is not closed. For example, the remote stations Soest and Dronrijp are both places where the trains cross each other on the single track, and Lage Zwaluwe is a way to get travelers from Zevenbergen to switch faster to the sprinters to Breda / Prinsenbeek. But on this irrelevant line that is 90% double-track I can't think of a good reason to keep this station. Most people from Dodewaard always go to Opheusden station if they want to travel by train, it saves hardly any kilometers. At most, this is intended as a meager padding, but then it is better to give Echteld or Valburg a station. VAT There is a free toilet here
