I bought a very nice piano here that I am very happy with. Lots of choice, space and service! For each his own.

When I turned to Emile van Leenen for maintenance on my grand piano (after more than 30 years it had to be re-voiced and adjusted and provided with new roulets) he came up with an attractive offer to exchange it for a new one instead. Attractive, but of course the sound and touch of a new one should please me. That is why I went together with Emile van Leenen and Anto Karamenderes (also my piano teacher) to find a new grand piano at Schimmel in Braunschweig. That is something you don't do often, and where professional guidance is therefore very welcome. Schimmel had three identical grand pianos - voiced in the requested timbre - which, as expected, were each different. After the first assessment by Anto - who immediately enthusiastically tried all keyboards in the showroom - I was able to fully confirm his ranking of the wings and my choice was made. Then we got a tour of the factory where we got to see how a grand piano or piano is made and how a high-quality and always unique instrument is created by the materials used. Emile also wanted to buy a number of pianos for his shop and Anto has played many dozen of them - also in the factory in various stages of completion - to choose precisely those instruments that have the most beautiful sound. More than 3 weeks later my grand piano is at home - very neatly delivered - and I can enjoy the clear and warm sound and the great dynamics of my 169T. I am very pleased with the entire guidance by Emile and also the pleasant reception by Schimmel. I have seen how much care and dedication goes into building this quality instrument, and how much care is given by Emile and his employees to get the best copies out of it for the store in Leiden.
