For me the world of strength training / gym was completely new, that was initially a barrier to opting for the services of IJsselgym. In addition, I found so much money to spend for sports / body yet another barrier.
After a few months of training I became comfortable with the strength training exercises, I found a rhythm of continuous work on my body. I also have more knowledge / feeling about how my body works.
I find the guidance at IJsselgym very professional and the coaches are also very passionate. Other advantages are that if I have a question I can easily send it via Whatsapp (for home training, for example).
I definitely recommend IJsselgym. It has helped me to really build muscle + get rhythm / consistency. It is a good concept, because training with three athletes at the same time, the costs are much lower than regular personal training. It is also a pleasant group of people.
Two years ago I came to live in Deventer from Vlieland and I was immediately looking for personal training to improve the quality of my life. Because I had a lot of work to do with my new job at the time, I couldn't divide my time well between private and work. Getting pregnant has put an end to choosing for myself and my health, so ended up at IJsselgym.
The result of the service is that I now have more stability in my lifestyle when it comes to nutrition, rest and exercise.
What I like best about the service is that the situation is examined, then a plan is drawn up and motivated to continue and realize it. This ensures self-realization and insight for a good approach in independent maintenance.
I find other advantages in accessibility, clarity and coaching. I can recommend it to anyone who wishes to take the first steps towards independently achieving a healthy lifestyle.
I am very satisfied with the result to date and look forward to taking the next steps after my pregnancy recovery period.
I was not feeling well, both physically and mentally. Physically I had knee problems and a worthless condition, mentally zero self-assurance. But it became a bit of a "chicken or the egg" story. What was there before? Exercising physically difficult and therefore not feeling well or not feeling well and therefore not exercising ...? In the beginning I doubted whether it would make sense to myself and whether it was worth the investment or not?
Now, not even half a year later, I don't regret anything! 16 kg lighter and the fat is still flying off every week. It is also addictive. The goals that are set together are suddenly too easy and you want more. Playing sports has finally become fun again!
The great thing about IJsselgym is that it not only makes me sweat, but also imparts the knowledge to be able to continue afterwards. Marc is not a 'drill sergeant' who likes to see people train broken, but will occasionally give you that much needed subtle kick.
At IJsselgym you also have the choice to train together with other people who are in the same position. This creates a nice atmosphere that certainly promotes training.
The great thing about Marc is that he is also ready for you outside the gym doors. Of course you work on your (sleep) rhythms, eating patterns and stress factors, but something goes a little less well or you have questions, you can always contact him.
The physical is so important to be mentally fit too. In that regard, I can recommend everyone to take that step. IJsselgym really helped me fantastic and can recommend it to anyone. Use it as a kickstarter to a fitter life.
For years I have been trying to compete with my excess kilos. In the meantime I have tried a lot of different diets, but none of them were successful. It was mainly diets that I could not sustain for months or that did not suit my lifestyle. Because of these experiences, despite the fact that I really wanted to lose weight, I got a negative association with the word "lose weight." Confidence in losing weight disappeared and I was no longer able to turn the "button" independently. Last July the measure was full and something had to change. I read all about personal training on the internet and became interested. I decided to contact IJsselgym to see if Marc could help me further. In the beginning I was, of course, still skeptical as to whether this would be something for me, but I decided to give it a chance and go for it. It has been the best choice in a long time.
I am very happy that I have taken the step to contact Marc van IJsselgym. The last nine weeks I have been working hard inside and outside the gym to make small steps towards my goal. I already feel a lot fitter, stronger and above all happier. I did not expect that I would be so enthusiastic about strength training and that I would feel so much better. The combination of strength training and healthy food works for me. Every time I go to the gym with great pleasure and I look forward to making progress again!
My progress is largely due to my trainer Marc. Thanks to his guidance I was able to switch the button again. When I started exercising at IJsselgym, he made a customized sports program and since then he has guided me through the exercises well. In addition, I learn a lot from him in the field of nutrition. I get more and more knowledge myself and therefore I get a healthy relationship with food more and more. He can listen well, knows how to motivate and can give you the boost to get everything out of yourself. This support is essential for me to reach my goals.
I started at IJsselgym to lose 20 to 30 pounds of fat. Over the weeks, I have noticed that I have lost quite a few kilos and centimeters. I notice that I get stronger every week and that I have more and more control over my body. In addition, I learn to make better choices with regard to food and I feel a lot better in my own skin. I see my confidence grow again!
I would definitely recommend other people to work out at IJsselgym. The gym is a nice and cozy place to get the most out of yourself. With the help of an individual sports program and the pleasant guidance of Marc, it is a pleasure every week to be allowed to work out.

A great place for strength training. Marc sets up a training schedule that is adapted to my wishes and goals and that is well balanced in terms of muscle strain. The facilities are good and Marc can pay attention that I perform the exercises in the right way.
