Really don't understand the negative sentiment. I've always been helped in a friendly and correct manner.
Terrible service, only available from 9:00 - 17:00, no emergency contact. Card got blocked for no reason, via the app. App and account management are terrible, app keeps crashing, account does not connect, app does not give feedback on account creation requirements etc.
Never again going for AMEX
I called to cancel my card before they charged me another 170 euros for the next year because I never used the Dutch card since I didn't live there anymore. After 20 minutes on a call and thinking it had been resolved, I found out they cancelled my American gold card and not the Dutch card. Then on top of that I received a bill from them for the 170 euros. I had to call Amex US to reinstate my original American gold card and it's been one mess after another to clean up because of their incompetence with customer service! Disgraceful, time consuming and a deliberate attempt to avoid cancelling a credit card so they could charge you even when you explicitly tell them to do it!
Customer service gives contradictory information which leads to surcharges, really terrible
Unfortunately AEX Netherlands is horrible. I cancelled my card in November 2019 and and they need to pay me back. Right now it is mid march and I have still not received any payment from them. Calling every week, and every week my bank account number changes without reason giving them more time to 'rectify' their credit nota.
