Goldcar

I was going to give 4 or 5, but they manage to take more money from you on top of the price already paid. Yes indeed when reading carefully it says so there is a fee, but very unclear if this is extra or included in the price. Should be just in the starting price as you have to pay this anyway. The fact that is an "environmental" fee does not change that. I don't mind paying for the benefit of nature, but just let me know I have to!

Unsolicited insurance has been taken out, despite the fact that I had indicated that this was already arranged through rental cars. When I had to pay by credit card and asked what the charges were for, the employee indicated it was for fuel. I would get all costs back a 120 euros, but on arrival I only got half back and it turned out that I paid for insurance anyway. This is illegal and I have not agreed to this. Goldcar cannot be trusted.

This was my 2nd time renting a car from this location. the first time was in Aug. 2020 at the time I got a parking ticket and they charge me for it which is find with me but I recently receive a ticket from the city asking for the money when goldcar supposedly paid already . the 2nd time on 7th Sept. was the worse experience I had with Goldcar. On the 10th Sept. the window of the car I was renting was broken into over night at the car park in front of the hotel that I was staying at. I return the car back to Goldcar told the person at the front desk the car window was broken into and the only thing he ask me was did I loss anything I told him no, all my luggage was in my hotel room. A new car was change for me for one more day. I had purchased the "Super Relax Cover (Full cover) as you can see in the pictures I had uploaded. Didn't think any of it and left AMS in a good note. In Oct. I review my credit card bill and see a charge for €150 from Goldcar. I email Goldcar on Sept. asking why the charge, not till 8th Oct. then they reply and they end blaming me that I left stuff in the car and that's why they broke the window which is not true the car was clean and none of my stuff was in it. They just give me this stupid excuse so the can charge me for something, I reply on the same day but no reply from them after that, I had follow up with a email 5th Nov. and till now no reply at all from them. Very disappointed. Never rent from this again and I don't suggest anyone to do the same.

Shuttle bus should drive per half hour but doesn't. I had to wait for 1,5 hour at the airport bus stop and in the end I got a lift from a shuttle bus of another hotel. The guy behind the desk is super rude, he almost canceled my car because I showed my frustration for waiting for the bus. Further they charged my credit card another environmental fee without mentioning this at the counter. I can't get a refund because I signed the paperwork without being notified of this extra charge. When I dropped the car off during office hours the office was closed. I waited for another hour and in the end decided to drop the keys at the hotel's reception. It's just bad! I did see the bad reviews here but I thought, let's do it for this cheaper price. But trust me, it's not worth the hassle to get there, being treated extremely rudely and still get f*ked over in price...

We’ve rented a basic car for 2 days and everything was great. Lennard is a great manager and explained everything to us very well and patiently. No extra charges was done. We paid exactly what was in the contract and the whole pre-deposit were given back to us properly. Of course we’ve returned the car in great conditions, full-full and clean. I definitely would rent cars with them again!
