Ambanaw-Paoay Peak

Well worth the 3.6 km hike. You'll mostly go through gorgeous pine forests. Beginners may have a hard time with the continuous ascents though.

Every bit of the trail is an eye candy whether if you are trekking in the pine forest, summiting the three peaks, or descending the steep pine ridge. Mt. Ulap is beginner friendly, make sure to carry water (1l should be sufficient) and some food supply if your doing a dayhike and don't overburden yourself with heavy bags. Oh and a garbage bag! Do not leave any trash behind! If you are ending your hike in Sta Fe, make sure to buy the local produce as the vegetables they sell are both fresh and a bargain (50 pesos for 1 head of brocolli which would is sold at around 120-150 pesos in Manila) Please do not smoke cigarretes anywhere in the mountain especially during the dry season as the dry grass and the pine trees could easily catch fire.

Mt Ulap is a good place to hike, the usual trail up is not that difficult. But going down is another story, the usual trail down is composed of loose dirt and is a little steep. It will prove to be a challenge.
