Serene and superb place to hangout. Tricycle is main transportation here you might ask the lady to book you a trip. You can cook your own meals here at the lodge near yhe municipal park.

Clean, good atmosphere and people greet for a smile rven the children they give a respect to the visitors.

A nice place to chill and appreciate the silence of the environment

Itbayat is recommended for those seeking for thrills and trails. This is the farthest inhabited island from the main land of Basco, Batanes. At the time we went here in May 2018, there are only a few tourists house available. Back then, they were still constructing the roads and we noted mining activities during our tour. I hope it is responsible mining. We rode a large boat with a capacity of 40 to 70 people from Basco to Itbayat. It is arount 2 hours travel but the travel time is worth it. Along the way, you can spot flying fish and the vast ocean and the islands. It so amazing experience that we even caught a flying fish (? not sure though, but the fish' color is lime green, sorry can't remember what they call the fish). We stayed here for 2 days. On our first day, we wen to the caves. This place is good for silhouette shots then we wen to Rafang Cliff. The view is so amazing. If you are brave enough, you can actually take a photo at edge of the cliff. I tried it, but honestly, I am afraid of heights. LoL! On the second day, we went on trail by walking, seriously, BY WALKING from 2am and reached the sunrise at a cliff, I do not remember the name, at around 6am. The clouds cover the sun so we did not see the spectacular sunrise people were looking for in this area. However, seeing the nature itself is fulfilling. They also have musical stones, which is so fun to play. On the other hand, if you have extra cash, you can pay P1,000 for a motorcyle ride to lessen the walking. However, you cannot avoid the walking part because it is the nature of the island, you have to climb rocks and though it is tiring it is fulfilling and you would want to comeback again and again. I love Itbayat, I love Batanes! PS. Do not forget to bring insect repellent lotion for the reason that I know you know. Enjoy!
