Mt Matunog Summit

Highest peak in bohol. Beautiful place. You can camp here. During the time of our visit it was very cold and windy. Be sure to bring coats and leggings.

Trail: 5/5 Camping: 5/5 View: 5/5 Mt. Matunog in Mayana Jagna Bohol is currently the known highest peak in the province with 850 masl. Peak: the peak has a great 360 view of the beautiful mountain range and ridges of nearby towns and islands of cebu, camiguin, and leyte. Camping: camping is available but not at the peak. There is an open wide space in the foot halfway to Mt. Matunog peak. The place is windy and suoer cold so do not forget to bring your wind breaker and jacket. Trail: It is a 2.8km forested trail, so it is not so hot even when hiking during the day. With wild berries, muhrooms, pitcher plants, and lots of anthurium plants along the way. There are rare wild monkey sitings too. Ground is a mix of limestone and soil so be careful when trekking on rainy days.
