Bełchatów is not really known for its culture. However it houses the largest lignite power plant in the world. PGE Giganty Mocy (PGE Power Giants) leverages this fact and presents visitors with not just clear depictions of how the power plant works, but the history behind fossil fuels and their formation. The exposition is pleasant and very modern, and though the printed material is only in Polish, you get a nifty headset and player that will tell you the essentials in English. Whether or not burning fossil fuels is controversial for you, understanding the origins and the complex science behind one of the largest plants in the world is most enlightening.

A very cool place where you can learn about electricity generation in an interactive way. Nice route for children, well-made and interesting audio guide. The exhibition was well prepared in terms of covid. Few people, lotions for disinfection, the order to wear masks. Several of the exhibits are in display cases although they were touchable, but all interactive exhibits are available.

A very interesting place that tells the story of coal mining in a great climate, I highly recommend it.
